The Effects of Congenital Heart Disease on Brain Development
Brain development is something that's come up in patients with pretty significant congenital heart disease. The risk of developmental neurodevelopmental problems is not very high, but then on the other end of the spectrum for example single ventricle type lesions. So because of this incidence we definitely pay closer attention and there's a little bit more rigorous neurodevelopmental testing that a lot of these kids to make sure that they get the right supports as they grow.
