Anti Corruption Investigations - A Missed Opportunity
There was a missed opportunity in 2013 when there was a massive June dates protests. The workers party were in government, but had become incredibly bureaucratized and separated from their base. And I think that's one of the reasons why anti corruption became one associated with the right and the rightWith this new right was able to seize leadership of all that popular energy. It did have genuine popular appeal. There was huge support for the anti corruption investigations. But it also made anti corruption a more realistic thing rather than what it could have been perhaps a more political understanding linked to a call for a political revolution or at the very least political reform.
