The Power Law of Crowds in a Crowd
People in large crowds can easily be injured or killed simply by the uncontrollable flow of human bodies through space. A force that is almost undetectable at a distance can become very strong as you get close to someone. People are typically anticipating about one to three seconds into the future, depending on the characteristics of the crowd. The higher the density, the more your collision avoidance skills are overwhelmed and different principles take over.
