Sulla slips out of marius's house when the coast is clear, and he reinstates public business the next day. Mithridates is meanwhile sweeping through asia in a vacuum of roman power. But only a few days after sulla reaches his camp, legates arrive at his tent from rome. Sulpicius has called a plebacite. He passed his italian voting plan all right, but then he also passed an extraordinary measure.
