The False Trade-Off Between Environmentalism and Economic Growth
I think the trade-off is almost a false trade-off in the sense that even with environmentalism as people get richer, they do care more about the environment. I would rather have the problems of a $64,000 per capita income or even half that than thinking of what you can do in this $2,500 per capita. And everything requires money. How will the government raise revenue when you have this kind of market? So I think that is one element that we have to internalize,. Problems of a country which is richer will be very different and less problematic than what we have now. There are problems on go away but there will be a different nature.
