There's this primary difference between knowledge work and industrial work which is that the execution is autonomous because it's creative and skill. The actual execution of the productive labor and knowledge work was long ago de-skilled where we actually outsourced all the thinking about the best way to build the iron slag or to attach the steering wheel to the car. So my optimism is the same as Drucker's optimism where when you keep the actual work efforts themselves creative and skilled and autonomous it's very satisfying very meaningful.
