The Self as an Illusion Versus the Self as a Construction

The self is a construction that has a functional role to play. In the buddhism context, there's an independent, essential core of our identity. And so one should um not identify with transitory and influx things as if they were an essential and fixed self,. because that's just inevitably going to be a, going to create distress and anxiety and suffering. The am self is an illusion created by the workings of the brain. Am, and so no self there means there there isn't such an essence.
