The Origins of Rhetoric in Ancient Greece
In ancient Greece, the earliest mention of the potency of possessing oratorical skill can be seen in Homer's Iliad. Because the ancient Greeks highly valued public life and political participation, it's not shocking that Rhetoric emerged as a crucial tool to influence public and political life. The first written manual about Rhetoric has been attributed to Tumet, named Korax and Tysius - they were said to be the founders of ancient Greek rhetoric.
