Is Bork an Eponym?
Robert Bork was twice thwarted from being appointed to the Supreme Court. Molotov cocktails were named after Russian politician Fjatislav Molotov in a bit of satirical eponymy by the Finns during the Soviet Finnish War of 1939. In 1973, President Richard Nixon had promised him the next available place on the Supreme Court as a reward for Watergate special prosecutor Archibald Cox's resignation. But then Bork didn't get his reward of the next Supreme Court seat because before one became available. The term 'Borked' is probably a deliberate misspelling of broken but it may have come from the eponym from Robert Bork.
