The Path of Inquiry and Intuition

In Buddhist traditions, these are seen as consequences of insight and equanimity. In the progressive path, it is recognized that we usually give our attention to 10,000 things. The purpose of this is to steady the mind by way of preparing it to sink back into its source of pure awareness. That's called the progressive part. But in the direct path tradition, no such purification of the mind or the body is required. It's not considered a prerequisite for recognizing our true nature.
