How Do You Connect With Your Customer?

How do you authentically connect to your customer? I think it's like a lot of the basics that you would have, even if you were together about listening and repeating what you've heard. You don't want to talk to somebody who asks you to repeat the same things over and over and talks to like a robot. Like to acknowledge what you're hearing about another human being's existence.
