demographic change has these kind of two drivers. One is what you say, which is his rising longevity. The second driver's is a falling birth rate. When you put those things together, it means that your population is getting smaller and the portion of older people in the population is getting larger. It's not that these things are inherently bad, but these forces have other implications. And they pose new questions to societies about how to design the worlds we live in.
