Stephen and mrs. Bunch were playing their usual duet on a Friday night in March 1812 When the butler arrived Stephen asked if he had heard any rats or wind coming into the wine cellar. Mr. Parks replied that it was possible to hear them talking from one of the other closets, even though they would have been too high up for him to get there. He then said: "If you choose to go that far bin and lay your ear to the door you may prove my words this minute What nonsense you do talk mr. Parks not fit for children to listen to while you'll be frightening master Stephen there out of his wits" The story ends with
