i think that the idea of democracy can be implemented in many different ways, but its fundamental foundation is the idea that the authority comes from the will of the people. And i think tat's a human thing and not a western thing at all. But you know, japan seems to be doing pretty well with democratic governante, even though it's not a western country. I have no trouble whatever in thinking that countries elsewhere in the world can embrace democratic values, even if not western values.
