Does the Conclusion Follow From the Premises?
An argument is a set of premises and a conclusion, with the assumption that we should interpret the premises as offering reasons for accepting the conclusion. In any real argument, there's some context that frames how the argument is going to be interpreted. The suasive goal of the argument is to get the audience to accept a conclusion or become more favorably disposed toward the conclusion on the basis of the reasons given in the argument.
