Ute Mountain White Mesa Uranium Mill

The mill was built on land that was adjacent to the white Mesa U community. The most significant impact of building the mill was the destruction of numerous archaeological sites. Even line tailings impalments will eventually leak there is some groundwater contamination at the mill site. These sites were kebas and what went for a house back in those days where the native people dug into the cows and then put Ramada type structures over them.
