Is the Extended Mind Really Helpful for Thinking About Things in the World?

I don't know if extended cognition is helpful for thinking about things in the world. Have are there any empirical phenomena that have been explained as a result of the embedded mind hypothesis? You can make progress pursuing that line of inquiry, but it's just rhetoric. I'm sure that's a strong version of it. It's only valuable to say that the brain functions by interacting with the world,. But to say that makes those devices part of the brain is just ridiculous. The fact that our bodies are important part of that has turned out to be a progressive research program.
