Jacobi Hospital's Stand-Up to Violence Program Has Shown a 46% Reduction in Retaliatory Violence
Alexis Ocasio-Cortez met with CNN's John Sutter at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx. The hospital is using a stand-up to violence program, which has shown an impressive 46% reduction in retaliatory violence over its first few years. When a patient comes to the ER with a gunshot wound, the team works with the victim and members of the community to prevent violent retaliation. "We're essentially talking about preventative medicine here," said Congresswoman Ocseye.
