A Different Paradime Than the Us

In the fifties and sixties, and maybe even before then, was fundamentally optimistic. People thought that every generation was going to be better off in the generation that came before. And so we were sort of in this quadrant of extreme, a indeterminate optimism for about a quarter of a century. That's probably what characterizes most of the rest of the developed world.
