The Bidirectional Relationship Between CPAP and Sleep Apnea
Dr. Ora's work is focused on the relationship that CPAP might play in influencing sleep disorder breathing and opioid use. We have a study funded by the NIH to look at relatively short-term eight-week CPAP treatment in a parallel group, RCT. Our primary outcome is looking at sleep symptoms, but our secondary outcome is about pain. And so we're really interested in just trying to understand whether if we try to treat sleep apnea in these patients, is it going to help them for the things that really matter for this patient group?"
