Schlimann's Treasure of Agamemnon

Schlimann discovered the treasure of Agamemnon at Troy. He also found an impressive Bronze Age castle in Tyrans, legendary home of Hercules. Archaeologists today believe that the treasure he found could not have been from the time of the Trojan War because it dates from at least 500 years earlier. Schlimann's excavation methods were criticized by archaeologists for being destructive and brutal.
