Ludo: Western states is one of the true spirit, original ultras that doesn't have super hype and glam to it. It's on a classic trail, nice loop in a good area with lots of Suarez, classic Southwest desert. Ludo says he almost lapped defending champ Ian Torrance at Pemberton 50K; "I think I was pretty close to lapping him that year" He also talks about his first go at 100-mile race after success at JFK but missed turn from Corey Road onto Highway 49.
