The Watchman Flex Is a Good Alternative to Oral Anti-Coagulation for Atrial Fibration Ablation
The Pinnacle Flex Study showed that the Watchman Flex, in combination with the six-week post-procedural regimen of DOAC and LODOS aspirin, is associated with the low rate of safety events. Device-related thrombus occurred in seven patients or 1.8% all of whom were on dual and top-related therapy or aspirin at the time of detection. Two of these patients developed ischemic stroke or systemic embolism. Follow-up is ongoing until all patients reach the 24-month window whereby the secondary effectiveness end points will be reported.
