The bandwidth of your conscious mind, what Jung calls the ego is extremely narrow and we don't need a laboratory to approve that. You can only do one thing at a time. The division of the conscious mind being extremely weak and extremely limited and then this massive processing power in the unconscious I think is incredibly well supported by the data.
