There was a very long standing and very deep Indian presence in Eastern Africa, says Suri Ashaykar Pandas. But then something happened that wiped out Indian culture from all these regions: "Arabic imperialism" There is hardly any Indian culture left in East Africa and in the Arabian Peninsula; it's been wiped out by Arabic imperialism. The music of Somalia sounds very Indian to some extent - why don't you listen to Somalian music?
