The Importance of Reading Your Last Book
The reason they didn't survive is because medieval monks who were like practicing writing by writing down some of the plays. And as a result, we don't have them now. The things that survived might not have been the things that everybody at the time thought were the best. There was some random intervening force that is the reason why we have whatever it is that we have. "It's just it is absolutely impossible to predict what it's going to be," he says.
