Mikey ran from every bug he had ever seen. There were many other things for which Mike didn't care. He left the light on when he went to sleep at night and was scared there were monsters ready to bite. And if it wasn't monsters coming to take him away, it would be slimy snakes slithering his way. So that's how the book starts off.
