How a Baby Learns Language?
We call it infant directed speech, or mother ease. And you can't help speaking in that exaggerated way to infants. Rhythm is the first thing we learn and the last thing we lose. You also find when the brain is beginning to break down, like, say, in certain types of dimentia, people seem to have stopped being able to use language. But then a particular cue will trigger a poem, maybe they'd learned as a child, and they'll be able to recite the whole poem. Poems, surprise.
