A Hard Day's Night
The monkeys was the brain child of two young t v producers, bob rafelson and bert schneider. They had come up with the idea of doing a t v show very loosely based on the beetles film a hard day's night. The original idea for the show was to use the loving spoonful, but as we heard last week, they weren't too keen. It was quickly decided instead that the production would put together a group of performers. Davy jones was immediately attached to the project. But oddly, only one person actually signed up for the show because of its provocative behaviour - michael nesmith.
