How to Hire a Director of Engineering
Companies often hire someone too high level who can't do the day-to-day job. The first thing is having a frank conversation with any person you have that's not doing what you need and want them to do. I think if they're still operating at this level, then they don't have enough experience for their new role. And so we should make assumptions without giving feedback.
