Orleans and the Comte d'Artois
Duc d' orleans was a liberal leaning constitutional monarchist. Orlean remained what he had always been, an ultra royalist absolutist. He watched charles's reign unfold with studied grimacing. The king delivered his inflammatory opening to the chamber of deputies in march of 18 30. But despite those fears, at the end of july 18 30, the duc de orleans had no idea just how loose the grip was becoming.
