The Japanese usually do this with broken pottery and they repair it with like the gold on there. You can create a very sophisticated interesting structure with just a few things that are just lapping on top of each other. It kind of reminds me of those devices that like people will play like a baseline and then click a button to repeat it or record it. I've always thought those are pretty entertaining so I look forward to someone sonic pi DJing for me someday.
