How to Diagnose Hyperthyroidism in a Patient With Graves' Disease

The patient has a low TSH and high free T4 and total T3. Highest on my differential for this patient is definitely Graves' disease. She also was noted to have an enlarged thyroid on exam. And so the best next step for that is obtaining thyroid receptor antibodies. The beta blocker can help with tachycardia, tremor, anxiety.
