Using Renormalization Group Theory in Particle Physics
All of the theories that we develop in particle physics are effective theories. They're expected to break down at high energies. We can think of Newtonian gravitation as a very low-energy theory. And then maybe there's going to be some grand unified theory or string theory or something like that, and the very high-energy regime from which all of these standard model theories will come is general relativity.
