How to Use Aspects of Culture Without Going Over the Line With Cultural Appropriation

Many people are afraid of trying to write about different cultures for fear of being accused of cultural appropriation. How how do you suggest that we can use aspects of culture without going over the line with cultural appropriation? And yet, i also do want to write diversity. I write very divers characters in my books and i don't particularly worry about it, because i really try very hard to make it good.
