Vaccines developed against coved 19 have been phenomenally successful at preventing severe illness and death. Rearming our immune systems with each viral evolution is not a sustainable way to conquer a pandemic, says Richard hatchett. There are scientists who are sceptical that developing a truly universal coronovarus vaccine can be done but in the grip of a global pandemic it's worth thinking big.
