Interfaces - Architecture and Patterns

I think there's a lot of opportunity in there that can draw on this kind of pattern language type thinking. It reminds me of the book A Pattern Language by Christopher Alexander. And making the connection back to interfaces again, a thing we and I have struggled with is, when do you reinvent the wheel? When is it worth questioning the interface given that there are these patterns in the physical and digital world that over some number of years, decades, we have proved work extremely well in a vocas certain type of feeling or action?"
