Introduction

When Jack Smith charges Donald Trump for his effort to steal the 2020 election, Fannie Willis should stand down. The decision by Willis to forego a Georgia state level Trump indictment is ultimately in the best interests of prosecutors collectively and in protecting the legitimacy of the rapidly unfolding prosecutions of the former president.
