The Compact Theory of Secession
In the constitution itself, you will not find one case in which the united states is referred to in the singular. Why? Because we are an althusian federation. We are a collection of societies wheare not a hobsy and blob. John quincy adams said that if some states should prefer to leave, we should better say good bye to them than to coerce them. There's no violence when separating from another entity norway or sweden. So now the question is what d'you do with our own history as it relates to secession?
