Is There a Leap Forward?

I can't even imagine how challenging that would be in the tactical moment, but also in how you deal with that in the years following. I think a leader needs to be in a position where one, they can observe where they can get situational awareness, get feedback and two, where they can also control command and control. So if officers shouldn't necessarily lead from the front, where should they lead from? What's this lead from?
