The Importance of Being Other Than a Father

Socrates asked his father if he was the father of all men. Katesipos replied, do you suppose that a man is not a man? Socrates: I cannot see that I like the connection. Is your papa a dog and yours a sea urchins then? He says yes; so are pigs as brothers too. Are you other than a stone or gold but not a stone? You're both stones! And being other than a father is not a father either said Chairadimos. The argument went on for some time until it came to an end.
