Introduction

The Suez Canal connects the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea through Egypt. It was built of this in the 19th century, that might be something you already know. But there is quite a bit of history behind the canal itself going back a lot longer than you might realize. The sewers canal has been the centre point of several political and indeed military conflicts over the years. And remains of these canals dug so many hundreds and thousands of years ago were discovered by none other than Napoleon. We'll come back to this in a little bit as we talk about it today.
