Acts 22-28: Paul’s Final Journey

Unshaken Saints

CHAPTER

The Ingenious Discourse of Paul

Mark Antony's speech to Julius Caesar was one of the most ingenious speeches in all of Shakespeare, says John Avlon. In Acts 22, verse 1, Paul begins by saying: "Hear ye my defense," he then shifts his perspective and points out things about Brutus that would soften their heart towards him. The same is true for Mark Antony as well when he starts with men, brethren, and fathers; it puts them into an oppositional stance.
