The Importance of Spaced Repetition
It's like learning a phrase book. You can start sort of making these little mental roots in your mind. It kind of just flashes up like a GPS. Repeating what you're trying to learn on a regular basis is really one of the most effective ways to memorize anything. This tactic has a name: spaced repetition. Ebbinghaus, way back in 1885, discovered that repetitions spaced in time produce stronger memories than repetitions masked close together.
