Your Wound Is Inevitable
In Jeremiah 30, God says that Israel is in a place of barrenness. Berenness refers to the inability to create life and goodness on your own by yourself. In verse 17, God says, but I will restore you to health and heal your wounds. This text holds together two truths that we do not tend to hold together: You can have an incurable wound and it can be cured.
