Grader's ice cream started 150 years ago in 1870 when my great grandfather as a teenager left home and came to then the thriving metropolis of Cincinnati. He decided to do something that was rather extraordinary, make ice cream. And unlike the Fortune 100 companies we normally profile, Grader's is an example of why keeping your business small can sometimes mean a stronger and more sustainable business.
