The Opposition to Uthman's Standardized Quran
Uthman wanted a standardized text which would bring unity to the empire under his leadership. His attempt to enforce a unified text of the Quran upon the Muslim Empire gave rise to those who wanted a certain amount of theological sort of in terms of Quran recitation, some sort of independence were amongst the people who were opposing Uthman. So there wasn't that theological debates were completely missing but the primary element of the debate seems to be in the early period.
