The Genetic Lottery
Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) is taking information about a bunch of SNPs across the genome and collapsing it into a kind of numerical score that's associated with different traits. Catherine Page-Harden who maybe you've heard of she wrote a interesting book I think last year or the year before called the genetic lottery. It's not exactly genetic determinism because you're not saying that score causes the phenotype but it's sort of linking genetic variation in a very abstract and statistical sense to variation in phenotypes.
