The Troubled History of Ireland
Around 200 years ago in 1801, all of the islands were united into one country. But it was not so simple and there have been problems ever since. The Irish Republican army fought for independence from the UK after World War I. And this ended with a division of Ireland into northern and southern regions. Since 1922, again almost 100 years exactly, the north and south of Ireland have been separated.
