The Effects of Fluid Bolus on Cardiovascular Collapse
The trial was conducted among 11 sites across the United States. The inclusion criteria were adults undergoing tracheal intubation with sedation for whom positive pressure ventilation between induction and laryngoscopy was planned. Exclusion criteria were limited to pregnancy or prisoner status. Intubations too emergent to perform the randomization procedures or intubations where clinicians felt that a fluid bolus was required or contraindicated.
